Imagine a weekend dedicated to taste immersed in blossoming vineyards and delicious smells…
As you enjoy the view over the verdant hills of Modena, we will take you on a journey of discovery and tell you about one of the oldest vines in Italy: 
the Lambrusco vine. With their impassioned approach and relentless work, the local winegrowers have created limited productions of selected bunches of grapes which have won a plethora of international accolades.

When you get to the Hotel Guerro, we will be there to welcome you with an aperitif, refreshments and all our love. Perhaps on our terrace which affords a breathtaking view of the ancient town of Castelvetro.
We will be meeting local culture straight afterwards at
dinner: start limbering up. 

The food-&-wine tour will start the morning after with some hand-on work. A walk through the vineyard and a tour around the first winery so you can find out about all the ins and outs of the production phases. Then, finally we pass from theory to practice. You will be winding up this first part with a “beefed-up” traditional tasting session so you can savour the results of such hard toil! 

In the afternoon, you will be making the acquaintance of one of Italy’s best-known Italian exports: Traditional Balsamic Vinegar from Modena. Universally acclaimed, this delicious vinegar is made by experts who carefully cherish their secrets and pursue their trade with experience, passion and patience. It takes at least 12 years for the black gold vinegar of Modern to age. Is it worth waiting all that time? We think so.

But we will let you make your own minds up. After the guided tour and the vertical tasting, you will have learnt how to differentiate between the various types of balsamic vinegar and how to appreciate its subtleties after years of ageing in barrels made from various types of wood so that each imbues the final product with its own flavour.

Once the tour is over, you will surely be feeling hungry and we will be there to alleviate your hunger by taking you to dinner. Are you coming?

Your delightful journey through taste continues with a tour around a second winery where you will encounter some of the best wines in existence and enjoy a tasting session to help you choose your favourite one. You will be able to savour it at table with the dishes that our local area is so famous for. Lunch is ready.
